Apologies for the delay in posts - it's been a bit of an odd week.
My PND flared up something massive and I ended up asking my Mum to come down and stay for a little, just to help keep things ticking over. When she arrived though, we were told that my maternal grandmother has shingles.
So, plans made. Plans scuppered. A trip to the Sheffield sick-bed. We had a welcome about as warm as a Scottish summer. I'm still cross for my mum - I kid you not when I say we visited the furniture.
In any case, we're in Scotland now. And Daughter is loving it. Amongst so many people, ready and willing to amuse her, she seems to be coming on in leaps and bounds. Though indistinct and open to interpretation, we've started hearing the bare bones of sentences: all gone, do that, no more. Also, when you ask her if she wants her nappy changing, if she would like to go to bed or if she'll hold my hand whilst walking, she will inevitably shake her head.
In any case, I am hoping that normal broadcasting will resume over the next few days. I'm hoping to tell you a little about the books we're reading up here, the food we're eating and the toys we're playing with.
And on that topic, here is the exciting new breakfast I'm going to be trying Daughter with tomorrow: Scotch pancakes. When I've bought these in the shops, they've been an enormous success so I'm hoping that the homemade version will be too. I'll let you know how we get on.
